Day 1 MVP OpenDay Hyderabad, India 2010

The day 1 started with the IT Pro Roundtable, we got interesting updates from Ravi Sankar, sharing details on how the IT Pro evangelism team is taking things forward in India. He shared details of TechNet.In, the Indian face of Technet, and how they are looking forward to contributions from MVP’s, RD’s and other community leaders. I think this is a great opportunity for people to reach out.

This was followed by the DPE Rountable with Stuti Shukla. This was an extremely interesting session, where we were asked to present our viewpoints on a variety of topics, such as the Top 5 Challenges faced by developers, How Microsoft can better meet the needs of the SME segment and how they can compete more effectively in the web space. It was interesting a very interesting discussion followed by presentations by teams on their thoughts. I’m sure Microsoft got a lot of useful feedback which is implementable. One of the MVP’s Mauqeet Khan made an interesting observation, that IIS is looked at as an add-on rather than a standalone product and that creates a perception issue when one looks at the competition. Overall a lot of interesting discussions and viewpoints. Was good fun.

Finally the evening ended with drinks, the below picture has the MVP’s having a blast with Karoke singing old and new Hindi songs…. more later….
