When the Vista File explorer doesn’t work

Had those moments where you feel like throwing your computer away.
I’ve recently had one of those moments(actually a number of times) with the Vista File Explorer not working. Actually it worked but only partially which is even more frustrating.
See the screenshot I’ve attached to this post.
The best solution to the problem I’ve found is logging off and logging on or alternatively a reboot.
Since there is no error message, one really can’t even search for an error code.
